WILMINGTON -- Four people appeared in court Monday, charged with killing a teenager downtown last week. Christopher Cromartie, 23, Jasmine Dottin, 19, Quintel Grady, 22, and a minor, Daniel Henry, 17, are charged with felony first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Joshua Proutey outside the Community Arts Center Thursday night.

Cromartie, Dottin and Henry are also charged with attempted robbery. Proutey was from Clayton and attended Cape Fear Community College. He was a night manager at the center.

The district attorney says the four went downtown looking for someone to rob. They're also charged with robbery at another home.

Cromartie, Dottin and Grady are being held without bond, their next court date is set for Jan. 10. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
