TABOR CITY, N.C. -- Two people are dead following what deputies are calling a murder suicide in Tabor City Monday morning.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of Spivey Road.

The Columbus County Sheriff's Department says their SWAT team was called to the house after three children in the home could not get their parents to open a bedroom door.

When deputies entered the house, they found 36-year-old Farrah Prince dead from stab wounds and 45-year-old Robert Hewett Jr. dead from what they say was a self-inflicted gunshot.

A friend of one of the children says the two had not been married long.

"Probably the last time I stayed over here was a month ago, and she was on the honeymoon with him. She had just married him," said friend Kyle Mills.

Investigators have not released a motive.

None of the children were physically harmed. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
