RALEIGH—A North Carolina man who has been behind bars for 20 years for a murder he did not commit is waking up a free man.

Larry Lamb was convicted in 1993 of shooting and killing Leamon Grady in 1987 but there was no physical evidence connecting Lamb or his two co-defendents to the crime.

Last week a judge vacated Lamb's conviction and Tuesday prosecutors dropped the case.

One of his attorneys said he will return home to Mount Olive.
