BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — Brunswick County officers worked get drugs off the streets during "Operation Spring Sweep."

They are serving warrants on about 70 people wanted on drug charges. Authorities started early Wednesday morning by splitting up into teams to cover a large area.

Officers said drugs have become a big problem and that often leads to burglaries, shootings, and other crime.

"That's what we are all out here for, to protect the citizens of Brunswick County. To make it a better place to live. We all live in this county as well. So, we are here to make it safer for our families and our neighbors families,” said Mose Highsmith of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.
