NEWTOWN, Conn.--The last three victims in the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut have officially been laid to rest.

Funeral services were held in Newtown on Saturday for 7-year-old Josephine Gay and 6-year-old Ana Marquez-Greene. A service was also held in Utah for 6-year-old Emilie Parker.

Thousands of people came out in Newtown to pay their respects, by attending the funeral or just laying out flowers on the church steps.

Some North Carolina students sent their best wishes to the people of Newtown, by making personalized cards at a Christmas skate party in Fayetteville.

The United Way said nearly $3 million has been donated to the official fund, along with games, toys and teddy bears.

A Connecticut priest said he knows many people's hearts will be broken this Christmas, but he encourages them to spend the day praying for hope healing and peace.

Police are still trying to figure out what led to the shooting, but people all over the world are sending their support to Newtown.

Sunday will be the first day that flags will be returned to full staff in Connecticut and at federal buildings in Washington. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
