WILMINGTON — There is more information being released about accused serial killer John Wayne Boyer.

News 14 Carolina learned that he lived in the Wilmington area for years. Court records show Boyer with numerous minor violations dating back to the 1980s. Records show Boyer has lived in both Brunswick County and New Hanover County.

Boyer is currently serving time in a Wayne County prison for the 2003 murder of Scarlett Wood. Boyer was convicted of second-degree murder in the case in 2007.

This week Boyer confessed to killing Michelle Haggadone, 34, and dumping her body near a South Carolina rest area in August of 2000.

Haggadone's family said they are planning a memorial service for her in October.

Criminal investigators are investigating whether Boyer could be connected to other unsolved crimes. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
