WILMINGTON-- Work done by three UNC Wilmington students made its way into living rooms nationwide. Back in June, The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore stopped in Wrightsville Beach for the start of the Hurricane Season.

He was filming commercials and promos in preparation for hurricane season. Three UNCW Communication Studies students helped produced the spots.

And for the last couple of months, the pieces have been airing on The Weather Channel. Two of the students involved said it was a learning experience of a lifetime.

"To go and actually do it yourself is something completely different. I've learned things there that I have only read about in a book," said Nate Galluppi.

The segments will continue to air through Hurricane Season. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
